Any plans for MS to update Project REAL to work with SQL 2008 or 2012?

When MS worked with B&N to release Project REAL this gave a unique arena to work with MS SQL Server using actual customer data, but given it was released for only SQL 2005 I've found it daunting to even try to use it with SQL 2008 or 2012. So is there any similar project for 2008 or 2012 or possibly is MS looking at releasing a Project REAL for these newer versions of SQL Server?
For those who don't know what Project REAL is, here's the URL: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc966416.aspx

Hi Sam,
I am not aware of a future REAL project.

I sent an email internally to one of the people who played a big part in Project REAL asking this question. Here is his reply:
Project REAL was very successful, but there is no planned follow-up that I’m aware of. If someone wants to take that data set and use it with newer releases, nothing would prevent that as far as I know. I’m pretty sure the relational databases could be restored and used intact. But the other artifacts, like the Analysis Services cubes and the Reporting Services reports and the Integration Services packages, would not be expected to work as-is any longer.
Thanks,
Sam Lester (MSFT)

Thursday, December 06, 2012 11:05 PMSo is there any similar project available for SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2012? I really need to dig into SSIS asap, and was hoping this project REAL would be a great learning opportunity. Has anyone tried project REAL on 2008 or 2012?

I am going to try project REAL on SQL Server/SSIS 2012. Will update as necessary.
Here it goes, nothing to lose.

Post some updates on how it goes :) I know the data itself is probably very portable to SQL 2008 and 2012, but it's the other components like SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS I really learned from when using it on SQL 2005.
But definitely let us know if you had any luck.
