Migrate Oracle 9i to SQL 2008R2 - does the ssma tool impact the live oracle prod db when testing other than CPU?
Need to perform the conversion on a live Oracle DB but do not want to cause any problems. Does the ssma tool impact the oracle side during the conversion? After the conversion to SQL is the Oracle DB still intact or will it be altered?
Thanks,
david

Hi David,
Since i have not the experience of migrating Oracle database to SQL Server, could you please pay attention to the article on the Microsoft web site about migration from Oracle to SQL Server which has elaborated on this issue in detail?
http://www.microsoft.com/Sqlserver/2008/en/us/migration.aspx#Migrate
Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
