NT SERVICE\SQLSERVERAGENT

I see this logon on my SQL Server and I see that it has sysadmin server role. Is this logon meant to be used to run the SQL Server Agent service? I tried restarting the SQL Server Agent service using this logon but I got some error. And I don't even know what the password is for this account which led me to think that I am not supposed to use this to run the SQL Server Agent service.
So what is this logon there for?
