How to open a file saved in shared drive using HyperLink

Question

Hi,

I have a SSRS Report to be created with table, in this table report, i have one column which will store the shared drive location like "\\Server1\Files\" inside this folder, there are many files are saved in PDF or Doc format. I have created the Report with Hyperlink option for that column, which actually should open the file, but the report is opening the file in the same page of the Report Manager.

Is there anyway to open the file from the remote server shared location without opening in the Report Manager, it should open the file in normal way when we open that file.

Hi Eshwar,

Thanks for the Reply. We can achieve this by opening the file in new window of the explorer. Actually i did this. But my doubt is, is there anyway to open that file not in explorer, but to open the file independently.. hope you got what my doubt is..

According to your description, you would like to open the shared file in the appropriate program instead of in web browser. If so, you can refer to the two links below to configure for both pdf file and word file:
