How to setup a mail notification

Hi All,

I have schedule some job in sql server 2000 .Now i want to set up an email notification under scheduled jobs.

Kindly let me know in detail steps starting from first step that how can i configure email notification.

Hi,

If you want alerts and notifications from SQL Agent in SQL 2000, then the short answer is that you need a mapi client installed in the account or profile of the account that SQL Agent users.

Outlook and Outlook Express are mapi clients, including most other enterprise email clients. I haven't done so but assume that the groupware email client or the lotus email client would do equally as well.
