I have a notification service instances running in SQLServer 2008 sp in cluster (using NS 2005 sp2). The instance has 10 applications. Since I changed to 2008 the update command takes hours executing, some times it returns with timeout without making changes, and the changes are little like changing a rule or a field. In NS 2000 the update command returned very fast when changes were little. I have tried everything, even using de -timeout parameter with big numbers and nothing work. Have you heard something about this? What can I do?

    I've found two links:
The #1 is the hotfix for that problem but using sql server NS 2000, I did't have the problem with 2000. I need this hotfix but I need it for sql NS 2008.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870657

The #2, is the same problem, but they don't show a solution. In this case the update takes 17 minutes, in my case 2 hours or more.
