    Unable to create New notification services instance in windows server 2008.It's giving Object reference not set to an instance of an object. (Microsoft.SqlServer.NotificationServices).In windows server 2003 its working correctly.While upgrading to windows server 2008 and creating New notification instance in SQL server 2005 getting the above error.

    We are having an issue for Server 2008 R2, but did not get the same error you are stating. We did apply SP4 for SQL 2005, so perhaps that is something to try. I am then interested if everything is working for you as our 2008 R2 OS our service starts, then stops not logging any helpful error messages.
