running 64 bit sql server mgmt studio
- Hello All!
So I got a new computer with Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I have SQL developer, 32 and 64 bit versions. I loaded the 64 bit, but I can't get mgmt studio to load. I tried both 64 and 32. Any thoughts?
TIA!
Rudy

- Management Studio is only 32bit, there is no 64 bit version of it. The Database Engine, Analysis Services Engine and Integration Services Engine are 64 bit, but the tools are always 32 bit, just like Microsoft Office through version 2007, its only 32 bit. Install which ever set of tools you want, they will be the same either way.

- Hi Melissa!
Thanks for the info! I should have given more details, my bad. So I have SQL 2005 developer. I'm planning to upgrade to Windows 7 as soon as I can. Can I just load the 32 bit version, will that give me mgmt studio? I did find the tools msi. But when I try to install it, it just comes back and tells me it's unable to finish the install.
Thanks!
