Loss of Transaction History when Codes are changed?

Question

Hi, I noticed that when the value of a Member's Code attribute is changed, the transaction history gets reset for this member. Is this expected behavior? If so, is there any way to keep transaction history instead? Thanks!

Almost certain you cannot do this.  The only way I can think of doing this is by using something else as your 'code'.  this would be something that would not change.
