Unanswered Power Pivot Installation

I have a SharePoint 2010/Project Server enviroment running Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise.

Went through the http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210616.aspx and I am not getting the

5.Verify that both SQL Server Analysis Services and SQL Server PowerPivot System Service are started.

Now the SQL AS never seems to start as it just hangs with Starting and the SQL Pivot Starts.

Can't seem to get past this. The other services were running already [Excle, Secure Store, Performance Point....] will that cause an issue?

On the SQL Server side the SQL services are running fine.

    Hi rjones67,

Did all the previous steps from the step-by-step you're using as a guide succeeded? What's the topology of your farm? Did you have it PowerPivot for SharePoint installed in this server previously?

Did you try to stop/start the SQL AS Service (POWERPIVOT) windows service? Did you perform an iisreset on this box?

Also, could you send me the ULS logs for this box? That would help me see what's going on in yout farm and narrow down the issue. My email is mtn at microsoft.com

    Hi Mariano,

Yes the previous steps worked fine. The farm consists of 4 servers  APP, SQL, INX, WFE.

PowerPivot was not installed until after the farm was established.

I notice that after the SharePoint services are started SQL AS and SQL Powerpivot then the service for SQL AS Powe Pivot stops and becomes disabled?

IISRESET was done previously no no avail.

I'll get the ULS logs to you as soon as I can...........
