    HI guys,

I have a question for you,m trying to get powerpivot report from an excel file. And m stuck at one place.

I have some files say,MyFile_1.xlsx,MyFile_2.xlsx ,.and so on...am moving data from this files onto another single excel file say,Intergrated.xlsx and I generated a powerpivot report from my Consolidate file.I deployed it onto a sharepoint site when I try to view the report using slicers it gives me an error.

Now ,my question is,should I deploy the files MyFile_1.xlsx,MyFile_2.xlsx ,etc also to the sharepoint site or is it just ok to deploy just the Consolidated file .

    Please give your suggestions.

    Hello SQLsGuru,

Per my understanding , once the data inported to a Power Pivot excel the data will reside local in that power pivot excel and there is no need for other excel files once it is imported. If you can post the error message and report steps , it will help us to further assist you in this.

    Hello,

After we import PowerPivot data from Excel files, we can directly use the PowerPivot data to design report. We do not need to deploy file1.xlsx and file2.xlsx to your SharePoint site.

In your case, please provide the detail error message to us for further investigation. We can use ULS Log View to collect the log information.
