Measure Missing from PowerPivot Field List
-
Wednesday, March 21, 2012 8:23 PMAs much as I like PowerPivot, there are some things that I really find puzzling. I created a measure in the PowerPivot Field List ("Sum of RecordCount"). I created another measure ("Index") that references the "Sum of RecordCount" measure. I've been working in the workbook for a few weeks and suddenly I am getting an error on the "Index" measure. When I open the measure it indicates it can't find the "Sum of RecordCount" measure. Sure enough, I don't see it in the measure list. So I try to create a new one and it tells me the measure ALREADY exists. Huh? So I Open up the PivotTable field list next to the PowerPivot Field list and guess what, the measure is there. It just is not displaying in the PowerPivot Field List. (Top Picture) The odd thing is I opened an earlier version of the same spreadsheet. It is also missing the measure in the PowerPivot field list BUT the "Index" measure is NOT throwing an error. (Bottom Picture) How can I get the original measure back so I can get rid of the error?

Hi Whalensdad,
Please open the PowerPivot windows to have a check to your first measue, mak sure there is no midification about its name and expression. If possible please post these two measure's expression for us to give some further troubleshooting.
