How do I hide the Results Pane in SQL Server Management Studio 2012? It used to be Ctrl+R but this no longer works :(

CTRL + R still works for SQL Server Mgmt Studio 2012 - I have this version

    "Microsoft SQL Server 2012 - 11.0.2100.60 (X64)
    Feb 10 2012 19:39:15
    Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation
Developer Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7601: Service Pack 1) (Hypervisor) "

May be you don't have a service pack or a not so current version.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Sanil,

I'm using the same version as you (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 11.0.2100.60) on a 64 bit machine.  I am running Windows 8 consumer preview, and I work for Microsoft, so I thought maybe it's a beta version, but seems to be the same as yours.  What's interesting is when I press Ctrl+r, on the bottom left of the screen it says ''Ctrl+R was pressed. Waiting for second key of chord..." This is like with .NET.

    Hi Brian,

This must have something to do with the fact that you are running Win 8 Consumer preview. I have got CRTL + R to work for SQL Mgmt Studio , both on Windows 7 as well as Windows Server 2008 R2 standard edition - SP1.

    Hi Brian,

I have tried the above scenario on Windows 8 RC build and SQL server 2012 RTM build, CTRL+R worked fine, however i would assume may be you are facing this because you are launching SSMS from metro style GUI ?

    Hi Ahmed,

I'm running it from the desktop not the Metro UI.  It's a strange bug/issue whatever it is, since it's asking for the second key of the chord, like it does in Visual Studio.

    Thanks,

    Brian

I went to Tools -> Options -> Keyboard and reset to Default, that fixed the problem.

One additional option is to assign new keyboard shortcuts through Tools -> Options -> Environment -> Keyboard in SSMS.  I use it a lot with query shortcuts, but can also use it for more generic keyboard sequences such as this.
