Hi,
I am trying to install SQL Server 2005 x64 Express on a Server 2008 R2 machine.
Everytime I run the installer is only installs the 32 bit instance.
I understand there are 2 setups, SQLEXPR32.EXE is a smaller package that can be used to install SQL Server Express on 32-bit operating systems only. The larger SQLEXPR.EXE package supports installing onto both 32-bit and 64-bit (WOW install) operating systems
I am trying to install the larger version but it keeps installing the 32bit version. Tried SP2 , SP3 and SP4
i have installed sqlncli_x64.msi,
Any help.
Regards
Riddhiim

For SQL Server 2005, only Standard, Enterprise, and Developer editions are available in 64-bit.
