You should read the topics in SQL Server 2008 Books Online about upgrading The starting topic is here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb677622.aspx. In particular, you should download (it's free) the Upgrade Advisor tool and run that against your existing SQL2K databases. This tool will report any significant breaking changes or behavior changes that you need to be aware of prior to upgrading. Information about Upgrade Advisor is included in the topics listed under the link listed above.
Kind regards,
Gail

- There's a wealth of information about upgrade, application compatibility testing and various SQL Server 2008 topics on http://sqlserver2008jumpstart.microsofttraining.com/content/info.asp?CcpSubsiteID=69&infoid=27. It's designed to be self-paced learning with labs, not docs so don't expect to just read. :-)
