Hi
I installed two node WSFC with W2k8R2 and MSSQL2k12SP1.
I don't use AlwaysOn! The sql cluster works fine. After every cluster installation I run the cluster validate tool.
There was a warning I couldn't explain:
"The RegisterAllProviderIP property for network name 'Name:<network_name>' is set to 1 For the current cluster configuration this value should be set to 0."
Is it a bug of cluster cluster validate tool?
Thanks

No, AFAIK, its not a bug. Is this cluster is in multisubnet? After SQL Installation did you tried to enable AlwaysOn?
Please refer to this article for details around "RegisterAllProviderIP" getting change to 1:
RegisterAllProvidersIP Setting
Thanks.

thanks for fast reply,
but I wrote above: No AlwaysOn
is neither AlwaysOn nor multisubnet
only 2 nics for mpio
only 1 nic team for public
only 1 nic internal (heartbeat)
all other nics are disabled (in Windows not in BIOS) or have no IP settings
It is an PURE SQL Failover Cluster like in former times with mssql2k8r2
There are no AVG-Feature enabled in sql server service tabs

Hi Thoma,
In a multisite cluster configuration it is acceptable to have RegisterAllProviderIP=1 to help facilitate client redirection, so we can ignore that warning.
In addition, you could apply the latest Windows Operating System Service Pack.

Thanks Maggie,
where can I view/set/unset the option: RegisterAllProviderIP?
I couldn't find the place. I guess is an sql server option?
Regards Thomas
