I am getting below error while running SQL 2008 setup for cluster installation-
"The cluster either has not been verified or
there are errors or failures in the verification report. Refer to KB953748 or
SQL Server Books Online for more information "Please advise what could be the possible cause of this failure.

HI there,
you need to perform cluster validation test before you create cluster.
run the cluster test by adding your nodes. at the end of the test it will produce the report with results.
looks like you haven't configured correctly.
check your reports by running the validation test.

I have asked the team to run cluster validation report again - it had reported failures and warnings. I have been advised to skip the cluster validation check using command prompt and proceed with install- the reason being the existing SQL instances are running perfectly fine. The issue we encounter is only during fresh install on existing cluster farm.
I do not think this is the ideal suggestion even if it works!!
Though I tried this once but it still threw the same error.

I woud tell them that nothing is getting installed with reported FAILURES happening. If you start with failures, you're going to run into said failures and it's not going to be an easy fix. Don't start out in the hole, start out where the environment is stable.
