We have active/passive sqlserver 2008 R2 cluster on windows 2008 R2 cluster.Recently we did fail over and then back to active. But quorum still on passive node.Is it fine to keep quorum on passive?

    thanks,

    Ron.

Having cluster group on other node should not be an issue. If you want to move cluster group then you can follow the below article

    Hi there,

It is completely fine. YOur disks will be in sync any way. when a crash happens on other node your disks will online on the active node.

if you restart That may bring the disks online on the active node.

How ever if you want to bring the disks on the active node you can do that. Open teh cluster manager then open the nodes right click and you find the option to move to active node.

    thanks

it is irrelevant where the cluster group is running on, since this will failover if there are any problems. Your post loosely suggests you may be running a disk only quorum, and if this is the case you should seriously consider changing to node majority plus shared disk configuration for improved availability of your cluster.
