Unanswered Disk letter change in SQL 2008 Cluster

    I have Sql server 2008 r2 Cluster consists of two nodes and it works fine the only issue I have is when i Failover an instance from one node to the other one the disk letters of the shared storage change and some products like SCOM does not work properly

    Is this using Windows 2003 Cluster?

    No using widows server 2008 cluster

    Hi Omar,

    Are they Mounted Drives or the Direct Drives..

    Example are you using I: for Data J: for Backup..or are you having disks I:\ for Data I:\Backup for Backup?

    Hi Omar,

    Can you please go to Storage section of the cluster and verify if any disks is blocking the drive letter..

    And regarding SCOM.. i have configured using the vdb, the best thinng is in SCOM if you configure it as SQL-INFRA\<Driverletter>$ you wont have any issues.

    Click run then diskmgmt.msc

    Change the disk drive letters or paths as needed to match the other or that of the preffered machine. 

    CAution.

    Changing this may pop your databases locations.
