PowerPivot V2

Question

After reading that PowerPivot V2 was released on Mar 8, 2012 I attempted to install it on 2 PCs, one running Vista and the other Windows 7. I had previously been running PowerPivot V1 on both machines with no problems. The installation appeared to go ok. I got a message saying that an older version was found and did I want to replace it. I chose to replace.

Now PowerPivot V2 will not load on either machine. I went to Option - Add-Ins - Com Add-Ins and tried to manually check PowerPivot for Excel but it would not load. A message says: "Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the Com add-in."

Can anyone please tell me how to fix this? It is so frustrating to encounter these problems.

Hi,

Try deleting the already existing PowerePivot v1. Then install PowerPivot v2 again. You may need to restart the machine once earlier version is deleted.
