Locked BIDs edition + backward compatibility

    Hi everybody,

    I searched the MSDN but did not find any articles addressing the following issues :

    • Which edition of VS (e.g. BIDS) will be installed to develop SSIS packages with Delani: VS 2008, VS 2008 R2, VS 2010, other ?
    • Except a legacy engine for running SSIS 2008 packages, is there a way to run SSIS 2005 packages in backward compatibility mode or an upgrade will be required ?
    • Will it be possible to migrate SSIS 2005 packages straightaway to Delani, or do we have to perform an intermediate upgrdate to 2008 beforehand ?

      We are currently working to integrate VS 2010 with Denali SSIS. However, this should be available to you in the CTP3 release.

      For running packages on a denali server, an upgrade would be required.

      It would be possible to have a direct migration path from SSIS 2005.
