    Hi, I've installed:

    • Microsoft SQL Server Code-Named “Denali”, Community Technology Preview 2 (CTP 2) Analysis Services (running in VertiPaq® mode) on Windows Server 2008 R2

    • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Premium

    • Microsoft SQL Server Code-Named "Denali" Business Intelligence Semantic Model Designer, Community Technology Preview 2 (CTP 2)

    • Microsoft Excel 2010 64bit (for use with the Analyze in Excel feature)

I'm trying to follow the BISM Tutorial (Contoso) doing the steps below:

    1) I log in the system with Administrator user,

    2) I open the Visual Studio 2010, create a new project from the template "Business Intelligence Semantic Model"

    3) In Solution Explorer, I click Model.bim and I receive the following error:

"Could not save the backup of the model. The Data Backup property of the model has to be changed to "Do not backup to disk". Before you can take backups, you must ensure that the user running the default workspace server has sufficient privileges to access the location of the model on disk"

I don't understand the cause of this error and in the BISM tutorial I don't find any clue.

Thanks in advance for your help

    Massimo

Hi, please install CTP3. We have changed the error message and default behaviour to improve this experience.
