What would be the corresponding Sql server data type for SYSIBM.TIMESTAMP of DB2 datatype

Question

We are extracting data from tables in DB2 database...some of the columns in DB2 tables has SYSIBM.TIMESTAMP (Sample values:2005-10-12 13:45:50.7155360).

We need to extract the same value without any truncation of value into SQL Server 2008 using SSIS..

Please help me to select the related datatype...

more over i may have to do datetime diff or comparsion between the values

like

 (2005-10-12 13:45:50.7155360) vs (2006-11-12 13:45:50.7155360)

Please help me with that

Hello,

the equivalent in SQL Server 2008 and up is the DATETIME2 data type. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb677335.aspx

In SSIS this would be DT_DBTIMESTAMP2 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141036(v=sql.100).aspx

If you want to get the difference of the 2 datetime2 columns you can take the DATEDIFF function.
