can someone walk me through DM sample excel?

hello,

i've been trying for two days now to go through the example file included with DM addins. What I want to do is to get a someone reasonable prediction of BikeBuyer column for testing data, however, no matter what I've try I end up with nothing.

Has anyone succeeded in doing so?

I have.  I've been reading your threads and trying to figure out the best way to help you.  I'm pretty new to this stuff myself.  The book:  SQL Server 2008 data mining has an excellent chapter on the data mining add-in for Excel.  It walks you through examples for everything.

Very nice!

I've skimmed the DOC, and it basically walks through what does what.

My problem is, that no matter what model I use, what input columns, it only predicts like 20 new customers as bike buyers, which, obviously, is incorrect. Even coming down to 0.1 probability doesn't help, although the lift chart is pretty decent, at 40%.

Another resource if you are new to the add-ins is this series of video tutorials on TechNet.

They all use the sample data shipped with the Data Mining Add-ins. The video for Analyze Key Influencers covers the bike buyer scenario, although it only shows patterns, not predictions.
