I am new to the Technical side. I am looking for a training course to start learning as much as I can about Server SQL and how I can contribute as a Technical Speicalist for SQL Server Management Studio. I am looking for a course that is an introduction into SQL Server. Any information or tools would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Whitney, one place to start would be the "Getting Started (SQL Server 2008 R2)" page of the documentation, which includes high-level descriptions, sample databases and code, etc:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb500434(v=sql.105)

Additionally, the SQL Server Certification Overview can be found here.  You'll find information on the new SQL Server 2012 exams that lead to the MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) certification.  There is a lot of good info on there, links to download the evaluation version of SQL Server 2012 to help you study, etc.

In terms of videos, the video here does a good job of walking through some of the first steps after installing.  If there are specific engine features or other areas you are interested in, there are likely many good blogs/documentation/videos for those as well.

    Best of luck,
    Sam Lester (MSFT)

Thank you so much for you're response! Not only was it faster than I had anticipated, it was extremely helpful! Thank you for your time! I look forward to learning as much as I possibly can!

I am in the process of interviewing for a position with Microsoft, I would like to learn all that I can before my in person interview. I don't like to go into anything without knowing and learning information about it. So I extremely appreciate your prompt and informational response! Thank you again!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

    Sincerely,

    Whitney Paterno

Whitney... it is good that you have useful information in handy how ever I urge before jumping to SQL server please go through the very basic Topics like-

RDBMS concepts ->The reason why Iam sayin is that the RDBMS is the Basics concept for any Database products (Incase if you have already that information it is very good for you )--

To learn you will get plenty of results in the youtube  or Google engine--if you search with your crtieria what you need, also you can install the SQl server then refer the Books online that will help more and on well track depending on the Versions of the product...!
