Proposed Report Server Data Source Credentials

    Hi,

I am migrating reporting services from one server to other with same version and edition (2008 r2). Here what I did:

    1. Installed SSRS as default instance on new server.
    2. Backup and restore reportserver and reportservertempdb on new sever.
    3. configure SSRS on new server using existing reportserver db.

Now I can see reports and data sources folder in report manager. These data sources are pointing to old server. I changed new server name but there is one option to type credentials and show report credentials are stored on report server. It shows account name (reportreader) but does not show password. How I can copy these credentials for data sources?

    Thanks

Was it the credentials of SQL login or Windows account stored on your old server?

Also, how about creating a new user on the new server, give required privileges to that user in Report Manager and change your Data Source's properties with the new user credentials? I assume you  have few Data Sources and hope changing their properties won't be a tedious job.
