I am looking for some advice on the best way to allow remote connections to my sql server.
I was thinking about setting up a Ipsec rule to block all ip's cept for the webserver ips and then setup a proxy server that my clients can connect to and that proxies IP would be also allowed in the ipsec rule... all others would be denied.
I want my clients to have to login to the proxy so that there is 2 levels of authentication required to get access to the server itself, and all connections would be limited to either the webservers or from the single proxy IP.
would it be possible to do this and if so how? cos I have no idea about proxies.
