I have followed all the installation prerequisites for PowerPivot in SQL Server 2012, including VSTO, but still do not get the choice described in this message: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210708.aspx.
My database is already installed, but when trying to add the PowerPivot choice, I am not getting the Setup Role screen shown in the second snapshot shown in the above link.
What is missing? Thank you.

SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot for SharePoint 2010. I am not getting the installation choice shown in the Technet library link for installing this product (please see the link above in my original post - in the second picture, the product I want is shown after running the 'New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation;' I am not getting this choice).

Hi Radu,
Could you please post the picture which you get after you run the 'New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation'?
Please notice the note in the website you post:
Some information in this topic is pre-release and subject to change in future releases. Pre-release information describes new features or changes to existing features in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Community Technology Preview 3 (CTP3). SQL Server 2012 SP1 CTP3 is intended ONLY for those customers who are testing Business Intelligence capabilities available in Microsoft Office 2013 Preview and Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Preview. SQL Server 2012 SP1 CTP3 is NOT intended for customers using SharePoint 2010.
Best Regards,
Iric

Hi Iric,
I am inserting below a few screenshots, without which what I see doesn't make sense with only one picture.
Also, I do not work with CTP3. Please correct me if I am wrong, but here is the output of %select @@version, which shows a Feb 10th release:
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 - 11.0.2100.60 (X64)
Feb 10 2012 19:39:15
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation
Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7601: Service Pack 1) (Hypervisor)
___Started installation from the same folder as original install and selected "New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation."

Ran Setup Support Rules next, with not errors. The sequential steps of the installation showed up in the left pane.

Clicked Next, and selected Add a Feature to current installation – see Picture 01 insert below:

However, at this point I am already passed the screen shown in this thread http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210708.aspx (second screen shot in the procedure), as the Setup Role choice on the left is no longer there. And, most importantly, there is no subsequent way to choose the installation of PowerPivot for SharePoint.
Question: could the PowerPivot for SharePoint feature be included in the Shared Features listed in the below screen, under the Reporting Services features? If yes, then why if choosing Tools under the very first setup screen, the PowerPivot feature is not active (see Pic 02 insert below)?

Hi Radu,
Please select "perform a new installation of sql server 2012" in the forth picture. For install powerpivot for sharepoint, you need to install it but not add new feature.
Best Regards,
Iric
