    Hi

I believe Microsoft recently released version 4.0 of the DB2 OLEDB driver.

Under the feature pack of SQL 2008 R2 you can only find v 3.0 of this driver.

I can only find this driver for SQL2012 . Is it possible to use it on SQL 2008 R2 ? The installation guide mentions it here : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh873008.aspx

    Has anyone tried this ?

Has anyone tried to update from V3 to V4 ?

    Hi Constantijn,

You can download the 4.0 DB2 provider from this link:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29100

After you click download, you will be asked to download a PDF file, in the PDF file, you can see that this provider is supported both by SQL Server 2008 R2 and 2012.

Okay, thanks for the answer. I will try it myself.

When I do an Upgrade, should I remove and recreate the linked servers or will they pick up the new driver ? I hope the last.
