Deploying sqlCe server on a hosting server

Question

Hi,

I'm new to WebMatrix and server side coding, I'm running into a problem of not being able to access the database after privately deploying my webpage via my hosting. I had this type of error message:

Please correct the errors and try again.
The Provider encountered an unknown error.

All the necessary files were uploaded since I used WebMatrix for this purpose.

As well, when I tried to log in using the services (OAuth) openId, the page got frozen. Again the access to the database was denied.

What could that be? Do I need a App.config for wrie/read permission in the bin folder? If yes, how would it look like?

Thank you ErikEJ for your suggestion.

I'm going through it to see how I can get this issue solved. I've been for seven days now trying solution after solution with my hosting provider, but nothing. I can't create an account nor log in using the OAuth service (Windows Live, Yahoo, or Google) despite it's all set for them to work smoothly. For, on my computer using WebMatrix they work fine.

I'll get back on here soon.

Maybe switch hoting provider? Several announce that they support SQL Server Compact...

Hi ErikEJ,

Unfortunately, I carry over this week the same problem. I'm still having the same error message:

"The Provider encountered an unknown error" when I try to create an account.

I really do not know what to do. I might need to migrate to sql server standard version.

Just before all, what's strange is that after having the messag error I mentiond above, if I persist trying to create the account with the same data, the next line of error message:

Please correct the errors and try again.
Email address is already in use.

What would be your take on that?
