    Hey guys!

I have an idea for a new challenge like the Challenge of the month or the 50 lines challenge. It's a teambased challenge. Two teams will work on two programs (One program per team). After a week they will share their programs with the community. Then will the community tell them which program is the better one! :)

    For example:

Team one (3 persons) work on a small game (for example) a 2D strategy game.

Team two (3 persons) work on an administrative program to store (for example) information of the user.

After one week may be this the result of the community:

Team one:  5 of 9 voices

Team two: 4 of 9 voices

What do you think about my idea? I believe that this would bring the community together (more then at the moment).

    Greetings Timo

YES!!!! THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!! I APPROVE!!!

    Where do we start??!

I've got a friend in Washington that could be on team One with me... Oh and probably no extensions right??

Yeah thats a nice idea Zock77! Perhaps we could say that the teams can use one extension (both the same) if the challenge is to hard without.

We could start if enough persons say: "Yeah I would like to do this!"

Each team could maybe have 1 forum thread to communicate with each other about how they're going to do things and to share code with each other. Is that a good idea?

Yeah! That's a great Idea! but we may want to consult Litdev first.

Why not use a service such as GitHub, or SourceForge?

I love the idea! I suggest groups use Google Talk to collaborate. It is very easy and streamlined. You have the option to text chat or voice chat.

Good to hear that you all agree. :D

My idea was, that the teams use dropbox to share their files and use ICQ or steam or anything like this to cummicate (I think e-mail is to slow, but if the teammates are like this: 1 USA, 1 Germany, 1 China is e-mail the only way)

    @Zock77

We could use LitDevs extension. But this will be clear if the challenge starts.

Surely it would be a tad unfair if each group had to do something differently ? It would make a lot more sense if the chalenges where vague enough that they could be tackled in multiple different ways, then each team would have the same objective but would have different results at the end of a week.

What about somthing like this: all you have to do is build a certain type of game in a week or two. (For example tower defense) then @ the end of the week we see which team has got the better game! what do ya think?

    1. Yes I think Zocks idea is better to.

    2. I think using extensions isen't a good idea.

Maybe one extension is better to program the program of group 1. Then it's unfair.

And if somebody don't know any extensions (like me) it's unfair too.

What would the time limit be? Two weeks?

    What would the terms/goal be?

    Thanks! Great idea!

Probably two weeks. and the goal would be decided When we start by the coordinator. Maybe Litdev As the coordinator? (If he consents)

    So thats the result:

There will be one challenge (maybe a strategy game).

Two teams with the same count of persons ( 3 vs. 3 or 4 vs. 4 ....)

No extensions because they are unfair.

A timelimit of 1-2 weeks. If the challenge is harder, there will be more time.

The goal is to finish the program in this time AND to get the most votes of the community.

So, at the end of the timelimit(or perhaps 2 days after it) will the coordinator open a new thread to count the results. Everyone can post there which program get his/her vote + reason. Maybe: "I vote for team 1, because I like the design of their program much more."

So, it would be nice if everyone who is interested to work in a team post this in a seperate thread I open now (This thread would be to long if everybody post here).

    I hope that I forgot nothing. :)

I got a Tower defence preview if you want it.

a spark to start a fire is necessary. But mainly you need dry kindling.
