Have a look at my Small Basic 3D Solar System Simulator. I'll rewrite it soon to use Shapes, instead of .FillEllipse()...

Nice,
As you say, shapes move and zoom will smooth the animation.
Also try using the recent Array methods (they are a bit more intuitive):
Array.setvalue ("planetRadius",i,Math.GetRandomNumber(600)+30)
Array.getvalue("planetAngle",z)
Is now:
planetRadius[i] = Math.GetRandomNumber(600)+30
planetAngle[z]
