Message ID: 1622, Installation failed

Question

Microsoft Silverlight's intallation keeps failing because of Message ID: 1622.

It says:

Message ID: 1622

The installation log file could not be written. Verify that the Temp folder exists and that you can write to it

 

But, I have a temp folder. Also, I am logged in as the admisistrator so I wouldn't think it would be because of that either.

So, how can I install Microsoft Silverlight succesfully?

Go to start -> Run

type %temp%

right click and see if you can add a new folder. 

Also can you provide details about what OS you are using?

Yes, I can add a new folder in Temp.

I have Windows Vista Basic.

Right click on your Silverlight.exe and run it as Admin.

Thanks for your help, but I tried this and it still didn't work. Failed installion again.

It turns out that my Temp folder was hidden so I fixed this and ran as administrator and it works now! Thanks!

For me it did not work like that I have window 7 I have tried everything that I have read in this forum, I lost hope.
