Unanswered Heavy loading time in Blend 2

    1)      Image and media files get really heavy as there is no inherent compression algorithm in Blend as compared to Flash. Due to this, preloading takes a long time.Is there is anyway to either compress the image and media files to a decent size OR speed up the downloading itself?
