    Hello

I have just installed Windows 7. There is this "Sticky Notes" programme built in, but I miss the "Notes" gadget from Vista (looks like a post-it)!

Does anybody know if I can download the notes gadget for Windows 7? Alternatively I have found the files that make up the gadget from Vista. Perhaps anybody can convert them to a gadget that will work in Windows 7. The files are here: people.civil.aau.dk/~jenor/Notes.Gadget.rar

    Thanks in advance!

There's also the standalone application called "Sticky Notes" in Windows 7 that allows a little bit more flexibility with what you can do with it.

    Hey there jenor,

I know how you feel about the look and feel of the NEW 'Windows 7 Sticky Notes'.... and I myself much preferred the look of the older vista sidebar gadget... I have found exactly what you are looking for HERE - ENJOY!

Just go to the start button, and in the "search programs and files" box, type "sticky" without the quotes..

I finally found a replacement. :) Below is the notes gadget from the Vista sidebar converted into a Windows 7 gadget:

It's pretty weird that Microsoft replaced the sticky notes gadget from Vista with a less configurable sticky notes application in Windows 7.

    Hi,

Go to http://gallery.live.com/ and search for Notes. Please note that you should only download and install gadgets from sources you trust.

    Hope this helps.

THanks a lot. I am just bewildered why sticky notes are not available for download on Windows website, it is just on behalf of windows to not give sticky notes for free download. Any way thanks 'lanfear'
