Crawling Exchange 2003 Mailboxes with Moss 2007
Hi to all of you,
I would like to crawl all Exchange 2003 mailboxes with Moss 2007.
Can you please advice on how to do that? I was able to Index public folders normally.
In order to idex the exchange 2003 mailboxes I did the following:
1) create a content surce on moss 2007 (http://fqdn-exchange2003/exchange ) , the type of this content source is public folder and it's pointing to the exchane mailboxes.
2) gave the index user "full mailbox rights" on each mailboxes
3) started a full crawl.
4) Immediatelly I get the following error: The object was not found. (The item was deleted because it was either not found or the crawler was denied access to it.)
thank you for your help, I appreciate.

Hi CArlo,
I tried to crawl Exchange 2003 Mailbox and it only works when using http://FQDN/exchange/user_alias as you said.
Basically, I do not know any business requirement to crawling all the mailboxes as most of them are private.
Could you please let me know your business requirement? Maybe I could find a workaround for you.
If you want to crawl limited numbers of public mailboxes, please try to lists all of them in the content sources or create rules to forward the mails to a public folder in Exchange side.
Hope the information can be helpful.

- Try giving exchange mailbx public folder as http://FQDN/exchange in the content source and try again.
Or try adding Search service account in Enterprise admins group and then try full crawl on content source again Hi,Thank you.

I did it and it only works when I use this syntax http://FQDN/exchange/user_alias

I checked on previous posts and it looks like it's not working.
Please can you confirm that you were able to crawl Exchange 2003 mailboxes with sharepoint?
thank you
