Search will not result to errors, but never find anything.  Where could be a problem?

Central Administration/Operations/Services on Server provides following for Search Service Settings:
    Indexing schedule: Daily 1am-3am
    Database name wss_search_servername

Central Administration/Application/Content Database provides following for database WSS_Content_PortalName:
    Database status: Started
    Current Number of Sites: 1

SQL database for WSS_Search_ServerName provide following information:
MSSCrawlHistory table shows that latest request was on 1:20:06, start time 1:20:06 and finish time 1:20:28. Status was 11. Crawl type was 2.

Event Log of Windows server says following on last night 2am:
The gatherer index resumed. Context: Application 'Search', Catalog 'index file on the search server Search'

Thank you very much for your advice!

have you tried to do a manual full crawl in the Shared Services provider?

    Thank you for your suggestion.
This is WSS3.0 so settings are configured in the page "Configure Windows SharePoint Services Search Service Settings on server" in the central admin.
There are no option to initiate manual crawl. Please advice me if manual crawl is possible in some other way.
