Sharepoint profile import error

Question

Hi All,

We are facing an issue where the User Import(Both incremental and Full crawl) was not working.

As part of trouble shooting this, we executed the following command "stsadm -o deletessptimerjob"

and now neither are we able to schdule the import because we have an error on the User Import page

"An error has occurred while accessing the SQL Server database or the Office SharePoint Server

Search service. If this is the first time you have seen this message, try again later.

If this problem persists, contact your administrator"

Please let me know how can we solve the problem of removing the above error message and also

have the user import crawl working. We are facing this issue now on production environment, your

early reply is appreciated
