Today end users reported me a date display issue. In one of the dataview web part on default.aspx, dates are getting displayed like "2010-06-28T23:22:40Z". "Z" character at the end. Why this is happening? I think this is UTC format or something. But how can I revert back to normal?
Every site is displaying this. There are are @ 150 sites in total. Please help.

the format coming on your sites is ISO8601 datetime format you can use the following function to get time in normal datetime format. generally Z represents TimeZone in datetime formats.

Thanks Manish for your reply,
The problem here is that, we are not using any custom code. We have created a Dataform webpart using SharePoint deigner on default.aspx to display some items in announcements list.
Is this date format is managed globally to display like this? I am seeing this issue only with this particular dataform webpart placed on default.aspx. There are about 150 child sites having their own default.aspx. We never seen this kind of character before. I don't know since when it is displaying dates in this format.

Sharepoint works with default dates in the ISO8601 format: yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ssZ.
When you create a DVWP, by default SPD will get the date field value using “ddwrt:FormatDateTime(string(@datefiled), 1033,5)”.
This is hard code, you can’t manage them globally.
So please check your DVWP for date fields, make sure you have used this kind function.
