Greetings and Salutations,

I am pleased to present the April Edition of the Adelaide SharePoint User Group’s Newsletter.

Last week saw the first European SharePoint Best Practices conference held in London. Wrap up and feedback about it has been great! It was one of the best conferences so I’m told as I didn’t get to make the trip. Check out the site at: http://www.sharepointbestpractices.co.uk/

March Meeting write up

What a turn out, over 60 people attending this joint meeting on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. It didn’t wrap up until around 9:30PM! A long session but a lot of information!

Thanks to Jeff Alexander for coming over and presenting for the better part of 4 hours. I have received quiet a lot of positive feedback about the night.

Thanks also to the Adelaide Small Business Server User Group and SAGE-AU for coming along and making it one heck of an evening!

We are pleased to present the March 2009 Edition of the Adelaide SharePoint User Group’s Newsletter.

What an exciting week it has been in Seattle, but I’m glad to be home! Last week I attended the MVP summit to talk to the SharePoint product Group about all things SharePoint and to catch up with MVP’s from all over the world! While I cannot give out much information I can tell you that it’s going to be an exciting 12 months all over!

Now to March’s meeting, not only have we teamed up with the Adelaide Small Business Server User Group (http://www.sbsusers.net/) SAGE-AU (http://www.sage-au.org.au/) will also be joining us!

Also, this month’s meeting date has changed, it will be held on Monday the 30^th of March at the same location (The Microsoft Innovation Centre Auditorium).

We have teamed up with the Adelaide Small Business Server User Group and have Jeff Alexander of Microsoft speaking at the event on “Windows Server 2008 R2 – Technical Overview” and “Windows 7 – An Update for IT Pro’s”. RepliWeb will demonstrate new methods for automating the deployment of content and other assets within SharePoint across multiple stages (dev -> UAT -> Prod) and dispersed geographies.

Participants will gain an understanding of best practices related to:

· Maintaining separate environments for Dev, UAT, and Production as well as managing change control across those stages.

· How to leverage automation when deploying content, solutions, and other selective components throughout stages and farms

· How to overcome a combination of large/frequent content changes, manual processes, and bandwidth limitations

· How replicate select components (content, look & feel, etc.) to select targets.
