But the problem is with the Bussiness Data Item because for this the ADF file is not having any details or required information by which this particular web part can be configured. I think you need to check the ADF file again.
Manish Patil http://patilmanishrao.wordpress.com Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.Thu, 02 Jul 2009 13:23:27 Z2009-07-02T13:23:27Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointbdc/thread/fafb6c10-02c8-4108-812f-408e9e6fc68d#4a39d2ea-f9a3-472b-aa50-4f518e8829c5http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointbdc/thread/fafb6c10-02c8-4108-812f-408e9e6fc68d#4a39d2ea-f9a3-472b-aa50-4f518e8829c5Phill Duffyhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Phill%20DuffyBusiness Data Item ErrorHi,

The Business Data List uses the 'Finder Method' where the Business Data Item will be using the 'Specfic Finder Method' , it sounds like you have an issues with the Specific Finder Method.

If possible please can you post your Application Definition File and we will try and see what we can come up with as a solution

Regards,

Phill

BDC Meta Man Web Edition - Out NowFri, 03 Jul 2009 10:41:33 Z2009-07-03T10:41:33Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointbdc/thread/fafb6c10-02c8-4108-812f-408e9e6fc68d#e7f84c7d-1382-4a3e-ad82-325e0c113581http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointbdc/thread/fafb6c10-02c8-4108-812f-408e9e6fc68d#e7f84c7d-1382-4a3e-ad82-325e0c113581Hamed_1983http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Hamed_1983Business Data Item Error
Hi,

The Business Data List uses the 'Finder Method' where the Business Data Item will be using the 'Specfic Finder Method' , it sounds like you have an issues with the Specific Finder Method.

If possible please can you post your Application Definition File and we will try and see what we can come up with as a solution

Regards,

Phill

BDC Meta Man Web Edition - Out Now

Hi Phill
you can download it via this link.
thanks
this is my SignatureFri, 03 Jul 2009 20:40:00 Z2009-07-03T20:40:00Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointbdc/thread/fafb6c10-02c8-4108-812f-408e9e6fc68d#5b342b7f-3ed6-443e-aa4e-ab0563da681fhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointbdc/thread/fafb6c10-02c8-4108-812f-408e9e6fc68d#5b342b7f-3ed6-443e-aa4e-ab0563da681fHamed_1983http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Hamed_1983Business Data Item ErrorAny help ?
this is my SignatureThu, 16 Jul 2009 23:11:11 Z2009-07-16T23:11:11Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointbdc/thread/fafb6c10-02c8-4108-812f-408e9e6fc68d#26456074-c298-4462-829f-31acc234367chttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointbdc/thread/fafb6c10-02c8-4108-812f-408e9e6fc68d#26456074-c298-4462-829f-31acc234367cPhill Duffyhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Phill%20DuffyBusiness Data Item ErrorHi Hamed,

I can see two things.

1. Your identifier is a Guid which often causes issues... change its type to System.String
2. You do not have a Specific Finder method which is used by the BDC Item Picker

I would sincerely recommend using a tool such as BDC Meta Man (created by the company I work for, Lightning Tools - www.lightningtools.com ) there is a free developer version which you can use to generate your Application Definition File. Do this and you can see which methods are created.

Best Regards,

Phill
BDC Meta Man Web Edition - Out NowFri, 17 Jul 2009 08:13:21 Z2009-07-17T08:13:21Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointbdc/thread/fafb6c10-02c8-4108-812f-408e9e6fc68d#0eab326a-61cb-44ef-bc7a-b1393795a449http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointbdc/thread/fafb6c10-02c8-4108-812f-408e9e6fc68d#0eab326a-61cb-44ef-bc7a-b1393795a449Hamed_1983http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Hamed_1983Business Data Item ErrorThanks Phill
i've used bdc meta man and get correct result.
best regards
this is my SignatureFri, 17 Jul 2009 12:20:27 Z2009-07-17T12:20:27Z
