BDL web part questions are always posted in my experience to the BDC forum. Moving this there.

It's a also a web part question since many web parts also have quick bars.

I'm sorry, but these categories just don't make a lot of sense to me.

Is it a web part, a bdc or what?

Someone needs to work on a better taxonomy.

Quite frankly, I'd just have one group called "Sharepoint" and them Microsoft can fire all the other moderators.

My conclusion is that it is not possible to get rid of this bar for a BDL.

However, I ended up converting all data to SPList and now use the Data View which is quite flexible and nice looking!

    > Person did not fully read response, but aburptly chastised me.

No chastisement but a standard phrase explaining why the post was being moved.

It clearly specifies the Business Data List web part in your original post. Not any web part but specifically the Business Data List web part.

How I am supposed to read a response when writing my reply that is posted three hours AFTER I post my reply and move the thread is beyond me.

P.S. Thanks a lot for marking a post that simply says that I am moving your post and why as Abusive. It really does make me want to continue to spend (a lot of my own) time trying to help the people who use the SP forums.

    Futher note.

Limitations with Data View now lead me to develop a custom web part using SPGridView.   See other posts for details.
