    Hi all,
I installed WSS 3.0 after MOSS 2007 installig. When I go to services on server I can't see Windows SharePoint Services Search to start it.
    What should I do?
I have Office SharePoint Server Search and start it.

Moving to Setup and Admin as you have got yourself in a mess.

You do NOT install WSS 3.0 after you have installed MOSS 2007.

MOSS 2007 includes the functionality provided by the WSS 3.0 "product" (and more besides) and like it is based on the same WSS 3.0 technology.

I suggest that you start again only this time only install MOSS 2007.

Moving to Setup/Admin. You can come back there and ask for guidance on installations if you need it.

I should write more than this. I installed MOSS 2007 at first but I couldn't see "Windows SharePoint Services Search".
Because of this I thought that if I install WSS 3.0 after that maybe I can see this service but this idea didn't work.
I did install in correct way but I have problem to run search services.
    thanks.

Going from memory, it's an option in MOSS 2007 which (again from memory!) means you need to start it if you want it.

You don't really need it because the Windows SharePoint Services Search on MOSS 2007 only indexes the Help files. (The equivalent search in WSS 3.0 indexes both the help files and the data stored in WSS 3.0)

Leaving it here in Setup/Admin as we are still in the installation phase.
