    hi
i got the virtual earth web part from:
    http://virtualearthwebpart.codeplex.com/
installed it and deployed it to my site. i added it to my web part page. i use SPS 2007. i get the error in the subject when the page is showing up. i've added the list. when i uncheck the Show Map box it shows the list content properly.
the wonderful part is that this error occurs after editing page. after that if i click on the Menu icon on the right part of the web part and click on Modify Shared Web Part and then click on OK even without changing any item of the properties of the web part the error will be gone and a white blank rendering occurs in the place of map to be shown with the same dimension. if i edit the page again and click on Exit Edit Mode, the error appears again instead of the blank region! again i may disappear the error by the same method, click on Modify Shared Web Part,... !
what may be the problem and how can i resolve it?
    thx

    Hi Jaackov,

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object" is indicating that the objects 'value' is null or not pointing to an object.
These could be a several reasons <bugs>, try to contact the forums on the project site in codeplex for a better support.

    hi Yoseph,
thank u for replying. i'm a newbie in sp. so would u please tell me what is the object's 'value'? and how can i resolve it not to point to null?
the last msg in the discussion part of the web part site is about 3 to 4 moths ago (23rd of July)! this indicates a very low activity and i should not hope so much to get a prompt answer. although i've already posted my question there too. since i thought this might not be the web part specific, i came here to ask experts about such an error.
axiously looking forward to hear from u
    thx
