    HI All,

We are trying to deploy the Search Server 2008 Express edition into our Project server Environment(one app server and one Database server).
Project Server 2007 was upgraded to SP2 and Sql Server 2005 with SP3.

I tried to install the Search server on the App server but its give us error "already installed the office product." not allowed to do it. Then we tried to install it on the Database server and from Wizrad we select to connect exiting form and give the our Sharepoint configuration database. after complete 2 jobs it throughs the following error and ends up

    Event Type: Error
Event Source: Windows SharePoint Services 3
    Event Category: Topology
    Event ID: 5617
    Date:  10/27/2009
    Time:  5:39:53 PM
    User:  N/A
    Computer: SQLDB
    Description:
The schema version (3.1.8.0) of the database SharePoint_AdminContent_4db31817-eerr-492b-89b4-7c52301ed066 on SQLDB is not consistent with the expected database schema version (3.1.3.0) on SQLDB.  Connections to this database from this server have been blocked to avoid data loss.  Upgrade the web front end or the content database to ensure that these versions match.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

After this if we re-run the SP wizards its completed sucessfully but did not show the Search Server Adminsitration page.

Could you please help us in this regards. How can we setup this thing.
Another Question, if we installed the SSE with new Content Database then can we integrade with our exisitng envrinoment?

    your efforts always appreciated.

    thanks

I don't run Project Server 2007 but it can be regarded as a super-set of MOSS 2007.

As such it almost certainly already contains ALL the search functionality (and more) that Search Server 2008 Express provides.

Therefore it is 100% logical that the installation of Search Server 2008 Express should complain that the product is already installed (even though the message is inaccurate and the problem is not that the product is already installed but the functionality provided by the product is already installed).

    Hi guys,

Another Development, Today we tried to install the Search Server Express on the Database Server of our farm, after installing the binaries of SSE,
we install the Service Pack 2 for WSS3.0(Because our farm envirnoment already updated with Service pack 2 of Office and Wss 3.0),
then we ran the Sharepoint product wizards, its configured every thing sucessfully
after that when we run the SearchServer wizard page its through the following error.
