Microsoft Search Server 08 Express: Scopes Inaccurate
- We have a Microsoft Search Server 08 Express in production, we are successfully crawling web content via file crawl and producing fairly consistent results...good enough to keep the masses happy. However, I want to enable searching via scopes and this has thrown my confidence of our search results into question. I can setup the scope, force it to update, even search by it, but the item count does not match the actual number of files in the folder, for that matter, the default scope which is supposed to include everything being crawled does not reflect the correct number of files in the site.
I've found some interesting information in these forums on how to troubleshoot, but nothing definitive. I do not want to release searching by scope as a feature until I am confident we are getting accurate results.

- There is no such thing as MOSS 08 Express.What product do you really have ?The closest I can think of is Search Server 2008 Express so I'm moving it to a forum for that product.
