Indexing some pdf file I get strane error

Hello to the community;

My ms2008 has indexed over 100k pdf files but for two of thems in the crawl logs I get this error

 

' "the item may be too large or corrupt. You may also verify that you have the lastest version of this filter"

I cheched the files, they are valid pdf files, they are about 4 Mb each, filled with full searcheable text. On these two files I checked the permissions too, extraction is allowed and copy the content is allowed too.

I'm using the pdf ifilter built in the adobe reader 8

I followed the installation steps on a blog found on another post;

for the other 100k pdf files all works fine.

What It could be?

I also added in the registry the

MaxDownloadSize (reg_Dword value) and seti it = 200 (hex)

and set the MaxGrowFactor to 80 (hex)

 

I'm trying to understand what it coulb be.

I think this is caused by the ifilter, can you try foxit ifilter?

It seems a pity to unistall the adobe filter and install the foxit filter just for few pdf files :-)

Yes, that's the problem
FOXIT pdf ifilter is 2~4 times faster than the adobe one when you index pdf files if you are using a multi core box.
