AnswerVisited Links

    Whatever happened to identifying webpage links as "visited", after you have visited the link and then returned to the page?  This MOST useful feature has disappeared.  And it's a real nuisance.  As search results, and pages, become more numerous it would be more useful than ever to have the link identified as having been "visited".  Especially since one search often returns a result more than once.

    I am of the opinion that the concept of "user friendly" is lacking in this regard.
    Am I the only one that feels this way on this issue, or are there more of us/you?

    Regards,
    kdsdata

    With all due respect, but I do need to complain.
    Actually three complaints.

    Complaint One:
    ===========
    The link you provided above is absolutely useless.
    It may be the correct answer to the fact that I had placed my question in the "wrong" forum, however even that is a matter of opinion, as Iw ould argue that an incorrect function is a matter that belongs a "Forums software/application" Forum.

    The link:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/whatforum/threads
    shows 4795 results on 240 pages.
    At first look that sounds great.

    However to refine the results, one would expect to be able to search the results.
    Hence the box "Search Forums".

    Entering "visited" and selecting "Search Where is the Forum for..."
    results in No Results found.

    Entering "hyperlink" and selecting "Search Where is the Forum for..."
    results in No Results found.

    This prompted me to test "my" search method.

    Entering "licenses" (unrelated to my question, but useful for testing) and selecting "Search Where is the Forum for..."
    results in No Results found.

    That's fishy, because there is an posting in this forum only three results down on this topic.
    So the question is what's wrong?

    Complaint Two:
    ===========
    There is an underlying reason why not only my question, but so many other posting are in the wrong "Forums".
    The reason for that is that it is not easily "seen" where one "is" when posting a reply.
    Making it more obvious at this very text entry box would be the answer to that.
    So perhaps this is just an suggestion, not a complaint.

    Complaint Three:
    ===========
    I received no notification of a response to my post, although there was a check mark in the "Alert me" box beside the Submit button, just like there is for this post.

    On the other hand, I will probably find out that my complaints above "are in the wrong Forum".
    Regards,
