I need to have my target disk NTFS compressed (except for the boot files that might need to be uncompressed).  Suggestions?

I have tried to install to a preformatted disk.  It's partitioned and formated NTFS compact.  But, the bootmgr (or something) didn't get put in the partition.

I tried adding disk configuration to answer file, and can get a disk partitioned and formatted as NTFS.  But, its not compressed.

    Suggestions?

If I add just a disk configuration - modify partition to mark it as active, will that place the bootmgr (or whatever) in the partition?

    Regards.

Regardless of what I do, I get "Bootmgr is missing".
