Wednesday, August 15, 2012 6:22 PMIs it possible to set up an area on MS Project 2010 to show informational messages to the end users when they log on? We're looking to inform the users when new reports are available or when time periods will be closed , etc.

Steve,
If you create an announcements list within PWA, you can drop the Announcements web part on the home page.

Is actually fairly easy to do.
- From PWA, Site Actions, View All Site Content.
- Click Create
- Select Announcements
- Enter a Name of Announcements and select More Options to change the radio button to not show in Quick Launch
- Click OK and the list appears
- Click on the List tab
- Select Modify View
- Uncheck Attachments
- Under Style, select Boxed No Labels
- Click OK
- Go to PWA Home page
- Go to Site Actions, Edit Page
- Click Add a web part
- Select Announcements
- Select the web part checkbox and Edit Web Part properties
- Change Selected View to All Items
- Under the Appearance section, change Chrome Type to Title Only
- Click OK
- Unfortunately, the column headings will still appear, so you can use the technique from here to hide it: http://www.sharepointben.com/blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=430
- Click Add a Web Part
- Under Media and Content, select Content Editor
- Click the "Click here to add new content"
- In the markup section of the Format Text tab, select the HTML button on the right and select Edit HTML Source
- Paste in the code from the blog post
- Click ok until back to page
- Select the Stop Editing Page button under the Page tab.
- It should appear as below.
Hope this helps.
